Verification of Foreign Trained Doctors’ Credentials

Ontario physicians wishing to use a foreign trained doctor, also commonly referred to as International Medical Graduates or IMGs, as a physician’s assistant should be sure to do their due diligence on the foreign trained doctor prior to engaging their services.   The most straight-forward way to go about this is to only use IMGs that have passed the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination(MCCQE).  If the Medical Council of Canada confirms the IMG qualified to write the MCCQE then you can not only be confident in their credentials but also obtain some degree of confidence in their competency.
